Walter Rivera
Walter is part of the business development team at OpenScholar. He is a serial entrepreneur and business development expert. Most recently, Walter was the Head of Sales at Funderful, the first AI Facebook Messenger chatbot company in higher education (acquired by Ruffalo Noel Levitz). During his time at Funderful, he helped the company raise a $1million seed round and worked with dozens of universities such as Georgetown, UC Berkeley, and American University to help them better engage their students and alumni while increasing donations.

Walter has also been a Partnerships Consultant at MIT Solve, an initiative from the Office of the President of MIT. Prior to entering higher education, he worked at the Techstars Disney Accelerator with startups in the media and entertainment space. Walter earned his B.A. from Pomona College.
